By 1932 the once-large Littlepage farm had been reduced to 8.75 acres. The Housing Authority of Charleston purchased the property in 1937, demolished a stone barn and milkhouse, and two years later converted the mansion to offices for Littlepage Terrace (see next entry). One of the state's first low-income public housing projects, Littlepage Terrace consists of clusters of two-story, yellow brick, multifamily units. This project served as a model for similar undertakings in the area.
