Mid-19th century–present

Honesdale's Main Street served the needs of life in the pre-automobile age. At its center is the former Menner and Co. department store that dominates the Keystone Block. This handsome Victorian building with a decorative brick front topped by elaborate cornices screened half an acre of floor space. At the corner of 8th and Main streets stands the handsome Richardsonian Romanesque facade of the Honesdale National Bank. Completed in 1896, it has been extended by three additional facades that reflect the rise of the Beaux-Arts as the banking style.
