Down the street from William Young's urban villa (
UN11), Joseph Boob demonstrated that he could meet the standard set by Lewis Palmer. The mansion he built for lawyer J. Philip Cronmiller combined an Italianate two-story polygonal bay with a wide bracketed cornice, prominent quoins, Palladian windows, and a raised Tuscan portico into a harmonious massive whole. Boob died before it was completed and the house was finished by his son, Charles.
