Named for fourteenth-century theologian John Wickliffe (Wycliffe), the first translator of the Bible into English, this Greek Revival brick Episcopal church, which replaced an earlier church that burned, and its adjoining cemetery stand on a knoll overlooking gently rolling hills. Its idiosyncratic facade, crowned by a late-nineteenth-century open belfry, features a heavy stepped gable above three small gallery windows. Entrance to the church is through a recessed three-bay portico with two diminutive Doric columns. The interior, lit by generous twelve-over-twelve side windows, has a single-nave plan incorporating a raised chancel and a rear gallery accessible from the front portico. Regular use of the church was discontinued in 1919 and its congregation joined Grace Episcopal Church (CL2) in Berryville.
