The Latonia Theater has a colorful facade of cream-colored terra-cotta tile with green and white Mayan ornament at the cornice. Two towers crowned with geometric ornament frame the entrance canopy. The interior has been altered with the installation of a floor at balcony level to create two stories. The upper story is now an elegant ballroom with a close-up view of the elaborate chandelier, with its scalloped ceiling medallion, masks of drama over the doorways, and gargoyles. The theater's name is a simplified version of the neighborhood's original name, Laytonia.
