This is an excellent example of the ubiquitous stone five-bay, two-story, gable-roofed western Pennsylvania farmhouse. Unlike many older houses, it retains its five interior mantels with carved surrounds and eight cupboards with shelves and pegs, as well as high-style touches like keystones and corner quoins. The limestone four-over-four house was built for the Nelsons, one of only two families who owned the house until 1999. The twenty-two-acre lot also has a timber-frame Pennsylvania barn to the east.
