Club Brandin' Iron

1930s. 548 Commercial St.

One of Elko's vintage bars, the Brandin' Iron displays a simple but integrated example of Moderne styling. The facade serves as a backdrop for the large sign over the main entrance. Two plate glass windows flank the entrance, which is marked by curving glass block walls receding to the door. The entire entry is covered by a canopy trimmed with aluminum. Above, the backdrop for the neon appears to be a rugged cliff or a broken down fence. The words “Club Brandin' Iron” float above two branding irons with the brands “El” and “Ko.”
