Like its neighbor, this brick Neo-Tudor house was built by a prominent and wealthy resident of Elko, Edgar Reinhart, owner of Reinhart's Company Clothing and Dry Goods. The Reinhart family, German immigrants, ran one of the largest and most successful mercantile enterprises in northern Nevada during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The one-and-one-half-story house incorporates such Tudor Revival elements as a steeply pitched gable roof, half timbering in the front gable, and tall brick chimneys.
