12413 Salem Lane is an example of the modern variation of the Country Clubber model, the largest and most expensive house put into production at Belair. The modern facade option was only available for Country Clubbers constructed in the Somerset and Buckingham sections (1960–1962). Although schools, churches, and recreation facilities were mostly designed in a modern idiom, this facade type was the only overtly contemporary presence among all of the houses constructed at Belair.
