A Modernist version of minimalism is conveyed by white ribbed metal-sheathed boxes arranged horizontally. Thin ribbon windows reinforce the horizontal aim of this design. Though a good example of Mies van der Rohe's tenet “less is more,” its small size and careful spare detailing (there is almost none, except for the shape and placement of openings within the metal skin) make this suburban bank building a forceful example of Modernism in the decade of the 1970s.
