1890s. 301 E. Main St.

This well-preserved store is a good example of the late-nineteenth-century frame commercial buildings that were once commonplace in Virginia. The storefront's angled and recessed entrance and its flanking double display windows are surmounted by two tiers of transom lights. Above the three large windows of the residential second floor, the stepped parapet is embellished with three circular windows below a lunette.
