Echoing a form popularized by the PWA in the 1930s, the courthouse's facade is dominated by a recessed glazed two-story entrance flanked by masonry walls. Here the masonry is rough-faced aggregate with wide bands of light-colored blocks alternating with bands of red-washed blocks and accented with brick trim. Rising beyond and behind the original flanking wings are the blocky sections of a 1995 expansion that link the old and new courthouses.
