Among the smaller and often later houses on Randolph Avenue is this one-of-a-kind office, now converted into a residence, of Samuel N. Hurst, a humor writer, lawyer, legal scholar, and regional booster. The polygonal facade of the one-story frame building is crowned with a tall false front, which gives the impression that the building is octagonal and two stories in height. The bracketed cornice of the polygonal front porch continues along the building's sides. Like many residences in Pulaski, the property is bounded by a Peak Creek sandstone wall of irregularly shaped stones and capped with very roughly semicircular stones.
