For the area, this is an early example of modernism. Faced with glazed white brick, the building's central entrance is flanked by two large plate-glass windows set on black marble bases and surmounted by black-glass transoms. Greenish-blue tiles fill the spandrels below the second-story casement windows and with bands of copper-colored tiles together create a subtle play of geometry and color.
