The L-plan, one- and two-story house that Howard Barnstone and Preston M. Bolton designed for Gordon, a lawyer, was the most publicized modern house in Houston during the 1950s. Like the L. D. Allen House (
HN7), it is flat-roofed and of steel-framed construction.
