This mixed-use development accommodates a retail atrium at street level, with an adjoining parking garage, social club, and athletic center. Over this base sit four interlocking octagons paneled in silver-painted aluminum and glass, reaching a height of forty-six stories. The stylistic flair of Oxford Centre finds no specific counterpart among the staid older buildings of Grant Street, but the geometric clarity of the octagonal towers is analogous to the more sober buildings, and the generous outlay of public space at the base makes Oxford the best stylistic “good neighbor” among all the post–World War II buildings downtown.
