Set on a steep hillside, this complex resembles a frontier fort, with separate small buildings surrounding a central quadrangle. Each unit was originally assigned to honor a different veterans' organization; a larger building at the northeast corner contains a gymnasium. Several of the buildings are now connected for use as county social services offices. As in other WPA projects, the rough-faced stone blocks are set with exaggerated mortar joints.
