After St. Patrick's was miraculously spared from a fire in 1884, the largely Italian congregation turned its small Gothic chapel ninety degrees to form the rear vestry of a larger church constructed that year. Above doors hand carved in Italy, the clapboard church now has a peculiar new bubble window in the rose window opening. It has been recycled as an arts and crafts shop, and its nave, sanctuary, and minuscule choirloft have been restenciled in original colors and patterns.
