Seventh Ave. at Alaska St.

Next door neighbors on Seventh Avenue, these two Queen Anne cottages have rectangular towers, set at an angle to the building. A similar scale and irregularity of plan also make them compatible partners. Typical in size of most of Skagway's early houses, these are more ornamental, giving a picturesque appearance, but their Queen Anne references represent a style already outmoded in the United States.
