The house closer to the center of the block was built in 1898 for Lee Guthrie, a saloon owner. By 1902 it had gained its present configuration, a one-story cottage with a cross-gable roof, projecting bay windows, and rounded entry porch. The clapboard exterior contrasts with square shingles at the second level, ornamental shingles in the front gable, scrolled brackets on the bay windows, and spindlework and piercework ornament on the porch. The house has been extended considerably toward the rear, but it maintains its 1902 front.
