This remnant of the old blue-collar coal town has a 1902 potbellied stove and the ultimate wall trophy, the 1899 World Record Wapiti—a twelve-point elk taken in nearby Dark Canyon. A typical bracketed frame false front and glass storefront still predominate despite many design concessions to twentieth-century pragmatism and tourism, such as the gasoline pumps.
