1901, Stearns Rogers Co. 1416 Platte St.

This Neoclassical temple of technology bordering Confluence Park has red brick walls with roundel windows and corbeled arches. It housed the coal-fed power plant that generated electricity to move Denver's trolleys. Appropriately, the rejuvenated Platte Valley Trolley (1989, Denver Rail Heritage Society), starts here at 15th Street and Confluence Park for a trip to the Zang Brewery site, the Children's Museum, and Mile High Stadium.
