1981–1983, 1988–1989, Lawrence Cook Associates. 5690 Oak Leather Dr., Burke

One of the most celebrated recent churches in Virginia, this structure is designed to take advantage of natural lighting and to be energy efficient. It is constructed of concrete block covered with stained cedar shiplap siding. The main meetinghouse is articulated by the stepped trombe (heat-absorbing) wall on the south and the tower on the north. To this composition is attached a low education wing and another, later wing for more offices and services.
