Originally this building was faced entirely in rhyolite, but a 1936 gymnasium addition and remodeling added a blond brick facade. Art Deco is suggested by the cream, gold, orange, and red brick-work, the rhyolite diamonds inset in the brick frieze, and the tapered brick pilasters. A $1.8 million 1989 renovation transformed the old high school, which had become a junior high, into the town hall and school district headquarters.
