On a 3-acre hilltop in open farmland sits a tiny church of random-coursed tan sandstone. It has a square narthex and smaller wooden tower protruding from the west gable end that replaced a larger stone tower destroyed by lightning in 1914. Lancet arches top all openings, creating a Gothic vernacular spirit. Swedish immigrants, who named this now-dispersed agricultural colony for their hometown, are memorialized on the gravestones behind the church.
