Little England Chapel

c. 1879. 4100 Kecoughtan Rd.

Tradition holds that this modest weatherboarded structure was constructed by Hampton Institute students under the sponsorship of the American Missionary Association. It was intended as a missionary chapel for the nearby heavily populated black area known as Cock's Newtown. The structure consists of a vestibule and a meeting room.
