Given a second life as a theater (1976) and restaurant (1988 in the basement), Alamo Methodist Church is one of the best examples of a Mission Revival church in the area. Raised high on a basement, which originally held classrooms and offices, the brick-faced design provides access to the interior via three monumental staircases. The round-arched fenestration retains most of its original stained glass, and the facade is dominated by the ubiquitous Alamo motif parapet that hides the ridge of the roof. Remarkably, the original interior of the church is intact with the exception of the altar, which has been removed.
