Forming a new quadrangle to the east of the original academic quad, the Administration Building addresses the formal entrance to campus from S. Texas Avenue. The four-story Beaux-Arts buff brick structure is classically divided into base, shaft, and attic levels. A grand range of fourteen two-story Ionic columns in antis provides the monumental scale needed for the long vista from the highway. The roof edge has a crenellated appearance formed by closely spaced acroteria. Marble staircases and stained glass windows add richness to the interiors.
