Italian-born architect and artist Frank Zeni designed this three-story steel shed, with industrial classical decoration, as a series of stacked, open-air lofts. Although he subsequently constructed air-conditioned enclosures on some of the floors, his house and studio are still quite daring for the amount of unscreened, unglazed, unair-conditioned volume they expose to Houston's extreme and unpredictable climate. Zeni was also the architect of 237–241 Reinecke Avenue of 1997.
