This branch of the Beaumont Public Library consists of a cast-in-place concrete shell spanned by steel-reinforced wood trusses and lit through clerestory windows of butt-jointed solar glass. By elevating the windows to roof level, Marvin K. Gordy and Bill S. Huffhines maintained a solid perimeter of board-finished, vertically striated concrete, conserving interior wall space. Natural light and views out focus on the sky and surrounding pine and oak trees.
