Wallace Livesay built his family's house, a stucco-faced, tile-roofed Spanish Mediterranean design. An architect and engineer from Virginia, Livesay worked for Gulf Oil Company in Port Arthur for five years before establishing his practice in Beaumont in 1921. Like the Steinmans', his firm became a family enterprise after his son, Tom B. Livesay, became his partner in 1954.
