This building has a richly modeled cast-iron second story with five bays separated by engaged columns on high pedestals and crowned with a massive bracketed cornice below a parapet. The first story has been heavily remodeled and is now faced with buff-colored brick and round-arched openings with two doors and two windows. The neighboring building (c. 1878) at number 308 formerly accommodated the Clinch Valley News. It typifies late-nineteenth-century commercial buildings with a bracketed pressed-metal cornice and second-story windows surmounted by hood moldings.
