c. 1850. 528 E. Main St.

Built for John and Elizabeth Sutton, this house is thought to be the earliest surviving building in downtown Dublin. More recently known as the Methodist church parsonage, the two-story, brick, hipped-roofed house has a projecting two-story Greek Revival portico with paired tapering octagonal columns. Other Greek-influenced features include a wide wooden frieze extending around the building and lintels flanked by end blocks over large six-over-six sash windows.
