c. 1920. 600 High St.

High Street has several late-nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century two-story houses. This stuccoed and shingled one makes dramatic use of its elevated position on axis with High Street at the intersection with Oak Street. Rubble stone walls frame steps that lead grandly up to the one-and-a-half-story house with its simple Craftsman qualities. A porch carried on four pillars spans the facade with its wide grouped windows. The gable roof with its slight kick is punctuated with a wide shed-roof dormer.
