Between 1900 and 1910. Northwest corner of Main and 4th sts.

The Ballard house, designed in the Shingle Style, represents an architectural vogue seldom seen in this area. Characteristic of the style, it has an expansive roof that extends to cover a front porch and contains several dormers within its generous downward sweep. The first floor is sheathed with horizontal clapboarding, but walls and gables above are covered with sawtooth shingles. The unknown architect was obviously familiar with northern architectural fashions of previous decades.
