This reinforced concrete bridge, now somewhat decayed, was built not only as Weston's main vehicular and pedestrian crossing over the West Fork River, but also as Lewis County's World War I memorial. Six concrete obelisks (one now missing) hold period lighting fixtures, while bronze plaques affixed to the bases of the two central lights give the particulars of the memorial and list the names of those “who gave their lives in the Great War.” The bridge is the fourth at this crossing; the first, dating from 1829, carried the Staunton-Parkersburg Turnpike across the river.
