1851. East side of East St. opposite the intersection with Grace St.

This charming country church fits its village setting to perfection. Its Gothic details, notably broad lancet windows and a pinnacled tower and spire, are applied to a brick building with proportions more typical of a vernacular meetinghouse. James Taylor sketched the church but was off base in thinking the thirteen-yearold building was older: “My pencil especially lingered over the time-dowered Episcopal church of picturesque lines, hedged in with the mouldering stones of its parish dead.”
