Early 19th century. East side of Queen St. (WV 1), second house north of the intersection with Grace St. at the center of town

This well-proportioned stone building, the only all-stone house in the community, has a random ashlar front wall and rubble side and rear walls. It stands two and one-half stories tall, with a dormered gable roof. Between it and the Grantham House (next entry), at the northeast corner of Queen and Grace streets, is a picturesque vernacular house composed of three log units, all now clapboarded.
