This somber Tudor Gothic church broods over the southeastern end of downtown. Built of a particularly porous red sandstone, the building has absorbed a great deal of city grime over the years. Square, battlemented towers of unequal heights flank the broad facade, highlighted by an expansive and elaborately detailed Tudorarched window above a triple-arched entrance. H. M. King, from Louisville, was the architect for the 1936 rebuilding of the sanctuary following a fire. The interior is not as accomplished as the exterior indicates it might be.
