Among the many striking features of this English-inspired house are the twin twisted, medieval-style brick chimneys; the leaded-glass windows; the dogtooth and herringbone brickwork accents; and the intricate carving throughout. The magnificent wrought-iron fence by Cyril Colnik that surrounds the property was installed in the 1960s after being removed from another house slated for demolition. Lawyer Victor Brown was president of Milwaukee’s Sterling Motor Truck Company when he had this house constructed. He built additions in 1922 and 1928, enhancing its rambling, picturesque character.
