Across from the courthouse complex, this group of buildings arose in the 1880s from the ashes of a disastrous fire that destroyed the entire 300 block. Although the two- and three-story brick structures in this block have been altered, especially on their first floors, they still display the era's elaborate brickwork on their upper stories.
