This house, in the Sussex County section of Jarratt, is a three-bay, double-pile frame building with a center-passage plan. It is one of the town's two Italianate raised cottages built after the Civil War. The wide eaves of the residence are supported by ornate brackets. Set on a stuccoed brick ground floor, the house is entered through a small portico which shelters the double doors of the entrance.
