Opposite the courthouse, this two-story, six-bay Federal building originally included a tavern, lodging rooms, and the residence of proprietor Guy B. French. Constructed of brick laid in Flemish bond, the building has molded brick cornices and a finely carved walnut entrance with a fanlight. Circa 1885 the building's roofline was changed from gable to mansard and a dormer added to increase the number of rooms. The ground floor was altered in the 1920s to accommodate two store-fronts. In 1994 the building was rehabilitated for occupation by the Chamber of Commerce.
