Located at the southern end of town, this complex contains a high school that was later used as an elementary school. The two-story, hipped-roof brick building is typical of Virginia's early-twentieth-century schoolhouses and retains its slate roof, banks of multipaned windows, and a recessed entrance bay topped by a large semicircular-arched window. The school bears a striking resemblance to high schools in Amelia (AA7) and Charlotte Court House (CT10), both by Robinson of Richmond, as well as to the Middletown School (FR40). Also on the site are a former agricultural and home economics classroom building (c. 1927), an elementary school (c. 1928), and a school cafeteria (c. 1942) built as a canning factory to encourage local citizens to preserve food during World War II. The high school waits a new use.
