The only surviving stone dwelling in town, this house was constructed by local mason Cabbage. His one-and-a-half-story, three-bay, hall-parlor-plan house was enlarged with a larger two-story log side wing. Used as a milliner's shop in the early nineteenth century, the building has primarily served as a residence. The Stone House Foundation has opened it as a museum to highlight the town's architectural history.
