Built on Buffalo Creek by John Baer of Lancaster in 1788, this well-preserved stone and brick gristmill is still grinding cornmeal and whole wheat flour with some of its original water-powered equipment. The building's huge scale and masonry construction are typical of the majestic German barns built in Lancaster County. A fine Palladian window graces the gable end.
