This house is one of several brick buildings in New Castle from the last decade of the nineteenth century that have been credited to local brick mason and contractor Lamb. The house, one of the town's earliest examples of Queen Anne, incorporates such classic elements of the style as a complex hipped roof, a bracketed cornice with sawtooth-edged vertical tongue-and-groove frieze, segmental-arched windows with hood moldings and contrasting stone sills, one- and two-story polygonal bays, and an octagonal turret with an octagonal roof.
