The simple log building with a steep single gable is the oldest building in Northampton County and the oldest Moravian structure in North America. A single shed dormer marks the center entrance on the long wall; on the opposite long wall a center bay of limestone backs a central chimney. A later Victorian porch was removed in 1971 when the cottage was restored to its original form.
