Like his other houses on the square (
BU35), this wildly asymmetrical gray stone house shows Bean's awareness of Wilson Eyre Jr.'s flamboyant early works before the Philadelphian turned toward more aesthetic control in the 1890s. The houses give a sense of the concentration of wealth in the downtown in the years before the decentralization made possible by the automobile.
