Thompson-Neely House

Thompson-Neely House Richard W. Longstreth
1702, 1757, 1788. PA 32 above PA 263, Upper Makefield Twp.

The central stone portion, the first section of this house, was built in 1702; it was extended on the west in 1757 and received a larger addition on the east in 1788. The plain stone front with little ornament and the adjacent mid-eighteenth-century barn and outbuildings are examples of an English family's farmstead. The gristmill, built in the 1830s across River Road, was the second mill on Pidcock Creek operated by the Neely family.
